Chesco Lawmaker Shusterman's Bill To Help Families Moves Ahead
A bill that would allow arbitrators to settle family disputes has passed the House and moved to the Senate.

HARRISBURG, PA —State Rep. Melissa Shusterman announced Monday that a bill to help families settle disputes with an arbitrator has passed the House with bipartisan support.
Shusterman, a Chester County Democrat, introduced the Uniform Family Law Arbitration Act, which would provide families with a voluntary and private process for resolving disputes with the help of an arbitrator.
“I am extremely grateful to have the full support of my colleagues from both sides of the House,” Shusterman said.

While arbitration is commonly used in commercial contexts, Shusterman said that it has recently gained popularity in family law.
Shusterman thanked Kate Klunk, a York County Republican, for championing this bipartisan legislation.
