Phoenixville Police Officer Killed In Crash

Nearly $5,000 has already been raised to support his wife and two young daughters.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — The greater Phoenixville area is mourning the sudden loss of one of their police officers and a dedicated and active member of the local community who died in a car crash Sunday night.

Arthur “Art” Scena IV was a longtime officer in the region, most recently serving Phoenixville. He was previously a patrolman in Philadelphia and the city of Chester, as well as a corrections officer at Montgomery County Correctional Facility.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda, and their two young daughters, Riley and Reese.

Nearly $5,000 has already been raised for the family in a GoFundMe campaign which has been certified by the police department.

"All funds raised will go directly to Amanda to help her and the girls navigate through this challenging period," organizers wrote. "We kindly ask for your generosity and support. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in their lives."

Scena was also a dedicated member of the Bullet’s Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, which organized fundraisers and memorial rides for law enforcement members who had died.

Tributes to Scena poured in from around the area after the news broke.

"Our deepest condolences to the wife and children of Officer Art Scena, and to his Phoenixville Police & Phoenixville Police Association family," the Phoenixville Office of Emergency Management shared. "We are honored to have known and worked with Officer Scena, and extend our sympathies to his family, friends, and loved ones."
