Faulty Oil Furnace To Blame For Phoenixville Carbon Monoxide Leak

Smoke and carbon monoxide were cleared from the residence using a positive-pressure fan, fire officials said.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA - Officials are blaming a faulty oil furnace for triggering a house fire alarm In Phoenixville last week.

On July 1 at around noon, a resident on First Avenue reported smoke coming from the basement of their home, Phoenixville fire officials said in a statement.

At the scene, fire officials found smoke coming from the basement with no visible fire. Firefighters later found a malfunctioning oil furnace, with fire officials securing power to the furnace and using a positive-pressure fan to clear smoke and carbon monoxide from the home.

No injuries were reported by Phoenixville police in the statement.
