Man Charged With Robbing A Woman's Wallet At Avondale Gas Station

CHESTER COUNTY, PA —A 34-year-old Delaware man is behind bars on charges of grabbing a wallet from a woman who was getting gasoline at 1:21 p.m. Saturday at the Sunoco Station, 8955 Gap Newport Pike, Avondale.

Michael Green of Dover, DE is in Chester County Prison in lieu of $50,000 awaiting a preliminary hearing after being arraigned before District Judge Matthew Seavey, Kennett Square on charges of robbery, simple assault, and disorderly conduct.

According to Southern Chester County Regional Police:

• Good Samaritans rushed to aid the woman, forcing the suspect Michael Green of Dover, to flee on foot and drop the wallet.
• Soon after, police discovered a male walking into the CVS Drug Store at 730 Newark Road, who immediately fled out the back door of the store.
• Green was later located in the 8800 block of Gap Newport Pike, Avondale.
