Massage Customer Charged With Raping Phoenixville Masseuse: Police

PHOENIXVILLE. PA —A 36-year-old Montogomery County man is accused of raping a masseuse during a Jan. 9 massage at Seven Stars Spa and Bodyworks in the Phoenixville section of East Pikeland Township, police said Monday.

Keith D. Cleghorn of West Pottsgrove Township is in Chester County Prison in lieu of $500,000 after being arraigned Monday before District Judge John Hipple on rape and related charges.

Police said a masked Cheghorn raped a victim who was in the process of giving him a scheduled massage at 11:15 a.m.

Investigators said a video on Cleghorn’s cellphone showed the suspect entering the spa and removing clothing and attempting to conceal his phone.

“This was a shocking forcible rape that occurred at the victim’s place of work,” Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan said. “The defendant did not know the victim, wore a mask, and threatened to kill her if she screamed.”

According to East Pikeland police and Chester County detectives:

  • The victim told police once the massage began, Cleghorn grabbed her pants. She then started yelling, “No, No, No.”
  • The victim said Cleghorn threatened to kill her if she did not stop screaming. He then raped the victim.
  • Police tracked down Cleghorn down through a surveillance video of the area that showed the suspect's license plate.
  • On Jan. 11, Gleghorn turned his cell phone over to the police.
  • Police then tracked the cell phone to the spa and got a video of the defendant undressing and then attempting to hide the phone and delete the video.
