Penn Relays: When is Phoenixville Competing?
Security is ramped up this year, including a prohibition on backpacks.
The 119th Penn Relays carnival, featuring track and field teams from Phoenixville and many other high schools around the Philadelphia area, takes place this week from Thursday through Saturday.
The relays website has the full event schedule for Phoenixville High School; its first event starts at 11:10 a.m. Thursday. You can find event schedules for other teams on the Penn Relays website.
Security changes
Visitors should know that at this year's Penn Relays, in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings, organizers have tightened security and will not allow backpacks or other large bags inside Franklin Field. Read the full security update.
