Arney, who plays second base for the Phantoms, said he chose Penn State Harrisburg because “I love Coach Bown and the campus. Getting a chance to play right away is great and the education is excellent.”

Arney, who will graduate from Phoenixville this spring, plans to major in business management, he said.

“Brett has come a long way in our program and has been the ultimate team player,” Phoenixville head baseball coach Jack Sturgeon said. “ He came up during our playoff run and helped us in a lot of different ways. Last year, we asked him to become an outfielder so that we get his bat in the line-up and he went out there and did a great job while still having to fill-in at different infield positions. During the off-season, Brett has worked hard to improve and has also taken over being one of our key senior leaders. I am confident that Brett will take his great work ethic with him to Penn State Harrisburg and enjoy success both in the classroom and on the field that he has had here at Phoenixville.”

Arney will look back fondly on his days as a Phantom. “I love Phoenixville baseball and am proud to be a Phantom! We are a close group and my teammates and coaches have made my career memorable,” he said.
