All but one Phoenixville Area School District school made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for the 2011-12 school year, according to data recently released by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Phoenixville Middle School failed to make AYP, falling short of the state's goal for math in the IEP-Special Education category.

In accordance with the controversial No Child Left Behind act, 100 percent of students in the state must be proficient in math and reading by 2014. Until that date, the state charts the annual progress of individual schools with AYP reports. For the 2011-12 school year, 78 percent of students were expected to be proficient or advanced in math, while 81 percent were expected to be proficient or advanced in reading.
Renaissance Academy made AYP in both math and reading.
