Phoenixville Conducting Inventory Of Lead Water Pipes
The borough hopes to identify any remaining lead pipes in the system.
PHOENIXVILLE, PA — The Phoenixville Water Department is conducting an inventory of all borough water service lines to check for lead pipes.
Residents may be receiving letters in the coming weeks. If the letter classifies your home as "lead status unknown" it means the water department has not yet completed the survey of your area.
Lead in water pipes can pose a safety issue, and regular inventories are mandated by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental protection and the EPA’s Lead and Copper Rule Revisions.
