Phoenixville Fire Co. Responds To Record High Number of Calls In 2022

There were 70 calls for fires and 185 rescue and emergency medical calls, according to a report provided by the fire company.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA —Phoenixville Fire Department responded to 662 calls in 2022, a record high for annual calls volume, the department reported.

The largest quantity of calls were 197, or 29.7 percent, for false alarms, and 185, or 27.9 percent, for rescue and emergency medical services, which are accidents, water rescues and ambulance calls.

  • Fires: 10.5 percent, or 70 calls for fire
  • Good Intent: (smoke calls that are later canceled) 70 or 7.7 percent
  • Service Calls: (assisting another agency) 38 or 5.4 percent
  • Hazardous Conditions: (carbon monoxide or gas leaking and power lines down) 73 pr or 11.03 percent
  • Special Incidents: (non-emergencies) 48 or 7.25 percent

The bulk, or 575 were in the borough.

They also include 49 calls in Upper Providence Township. The others are spread out in nearby municipalities.
