Phoenixville Man Dies at 78

Avid outdoorsman was a long-time neuropharmacologist

John J. Demkovich, age 78, of Phoenixville, PA, formerly of Avenel, NJ, died Monday morning, August 5th, 2013 in Phoenixville, PA.  Born in McAdoo, PA, he was a son of the late John A. and Anna Demkovich.  John attended high school in McAdoo, PA and graduated from Villanova University.  He worked as a neuropharmacologist for many years.  John enjoyed telling stories and being the "center of attention" in whichever group he found himself in.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  A true outdoorsman, John also enjoyed boating. 

John is survived by two sisters: Veronica Pompei, of Sicklerville, NJ; Florence Henschel, of Glen Burnie, MD; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  He was preceded in death by two sisters: Gertrude Aneskievich and Bernadine Tucci. 

A memorial service will be held privately at the convenience of the family.  The Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford, PA is in charge of the arrangements.
