Phoenixville Man Found Dead In Schuylkill River, Shot In Head: Police

A $20,000 reward has been posted for the capture of his killer.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — A native of Phoenixville has been identified as the man who was found shot in the head floating in the Schuylkill River in February, authorities said.

Joshua Daywalt, 35, was from Phoenixville but had been living homeless in Philadelphia at the time of his death, according to police.

Daywalt was found in the river near near Kelly Drive and Midvale Avenue back on Feb. 7, at around 10:17 a.m.

The gunshot wound was found by the Philadelphia Medical Examiner's office just below his right ear, and they determined his manner of death to be homicide.

Police said Daywalt, who also went by the name Michael Hall, was known to frequent the Manayunk area, particularly near the Green Lane Bridge at Main Street and Green Lane.
