Phoenixville Swears In New Police Officer, Elizabeth Moran

The Methacton graduate performed "exceptionally well" during the rigorous 10-month-long hiring process.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA — Phoenixville announced this week that after an extensive testing process, they have finalized the hiring of their newest police officer.

Officer Elizabeth Moran performed "exceptionally well" throughout the department's extensive hiring process, which began back in January. Some 10 months later, she's the newest member of the force.

"Officer Moran demonstrated that she is among the best of the best from the pool of applicants," the borough said in a statement.

She was sworn in to office by Mayor Peter Urscheler at this week's borough council meeting.

Moran is a native of Worcester and a graduate of Methacton High School and Chestnut Hill College and Montgomery County Police Academy. She has been a parking enforcement officer in Phoenixville for the past three years.
