Police Arrest Man in East Pikeland First CornerStone Bank Robbery

A Harrisburg Man is arrested following what police say was a one-man crime spree covering two states.


East Pikeland police say the man captured on security cameras robbing the First CornerStone Bank in East Pikeland has been captured and arrested.

According to East Pikeland Police Chief James Franciscus an arrest warrant has been issued for Heath Andrew Derizzo, 36, of  North Cameron Street in Harrisburg in the East Pikeland robbery. Derizzo was arrested and charged with a bank robbery in Ocean City Maryland that happened on July 23rd.

According to the East Pikeland Police Chief Pennsylvania State Police are   investigating similar robberies in and around Berks County during the past week. "This same subject robbed a bank in Ocean City Maryland on July 23, 2013 and was arrested by the Maryland State Police," the Chief said.

Franciscus says the man was positively identified by tellers using a photo line-up as the man who robbed the First CornerStone Bank on July 18th.

Chief Franciscus says "This case was solved through the  cooperative effort on the part of many law enforcement agencies working together to solve this and other robberies.  We want to thank everyone including the bank employees for their assistance in this investigation."
