Police Investigating Scam Attempt

East Pikeland Township Police are investigating a telephone scam attempt Feb. 11 in the township.

A township resident received a call from a man claiming to be from the U.S. Treasury Department, police said. The caller threatened to arrest the man if he did not pay back taxes. Police investigation revealed that the call came from a scammer.

“We are asking all residents to use caution when speaking to people on the phone and do not give out any personal information or send money unless you are sure it is legitimate,” police said.
