Truck Gets Stuck Under Pawlings Road Bridge Overnight

The road has since reopened.

SCHUYLKILL TOWNSHIP, PA — A truck lodged itself under the Pawlings Road bridge at the railroad underpass again on Monday night.

The road was shut down for hours as crews worked to help free the vehicle, which first became trapped at around 8:11 p.m.

The DN Van Lines truck, owned by a long distance moving company, was eventually pried free after responders took apart the side panel of the truck.

It does not appear that any serious damage was done to the bridge by the accident.

It is just the latest incident involving a vehicle becoming stuck in what has become one of the township's notorious problem areas.

The bridge is owned by Norfolk Southern and has undergone safety inspections "at least" 100 times in the last 13 years, Schuylkill Township police said.
