Dr. Mary Ann Cox, principal of East Pikeland Elementary School, and Dr. Margaret Pearsall, principal of the Kindergarten Center, have announced their retirements.

Cox joined the district in 1996 as an assistant principal, and was named East Pikeland’s principal that summer. Prior to joining PASD, she worked at Archdiocese of Philadelphia schools for 24 years, PASD said.

Pearsall was the district reading supervisor for 12 years before becoming principal of the Kindergarten Center in 2011, the district said.

“It has been my privilege to work with these outstanding educators,” said Dr. Alan Fegley, superintendent of Phoenixville Area School District. “ Dr. Cox is the consummate principal leader of a school. Under her guidance, all students and faculty achieve their fullest potential. Dr. Pearsall was challenged to take her many years of reading experience and develop a Kindergarten program that would have all students reading by the time their entered first grade. She rose to the challenge. Everyone in the Phoenixville Area School District wishes these two outstanding administrators the very best as they embark on their next journey.”
