If you’re watching your weight in Phoenixville, a group has recently put out a list of high-calorie, high-fat options served up at national restaurant chains you may want to avoid.
The Center for Science in the Public Interest’s website put its annual spotlight on some of the more extreme menu items in their Xtreme Eating Awards. The “winners” were revealed in its latest Nutrition Action Healthletter.
The organization reveals the caloric, fat and sugar contents of specific dishes at Sonic, IHOP, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, Outback Steakhouse, The Cheesecake Factory, Red Lobster, Uno Pizzeria & Grill and Steak ‘n Shake.

With the nearest locations a good drive away, it should be relatively easy to avoid IHOP’s Chorizo Fiesta Omelette and its 1,300 calories. The same goes for Steak ‘n Shake’s 1,330-calorie 7X7 Steakburger ‘n Fries. After that, it will take either some willpower or some after dinner exercise to deal with the high-powered meals located either in town or nearby.
