Kevin Nigh Resigns as Pine-Richland School Board Director
Nigh is the third school board director to resign in less than two years.

resigned Monday night from the Pine-Richland School Board, becoming the third director to resign in less than two years.
School Board President Stephen Hawbaker announced the resignation at the end of Monday night's meeting.
"Kevin could not make it this evening," Hawbaker said after he read Nigh's brief resignation letter aloud. Hawbaker said he knew the decision was very difficult for Nigh and was made with a lot of regret.

"I thank him for his intellect and everything he did for the board," Hawbaker said.

The board has 30 days to choose a replacement and already set 7:30 p.m. Sept. 20 as the date to interview applicants for the Region 1 seat.
Region 1 is in Pine Township—Voting Districts 1, 4, 5, 7 and 8.
Nigh was elected to a second term in November 2011 after running unopposed. He cross-filed on the Democratic and Republican ballots.
Nigh is the senior vice president of engineering at Certes Networks.
To find his replacement, the board will use the same procedures it used to replace Herko, according to Hawbaker.
"We've gotten pretty good at replacing board members," he said.
