$377K Renovations On West Conshy's MacKenzie Park Get Underway

The massive improvements feature a trail, dog park, pavilion, fitness instruments, and more.

WEST CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — A new multi-phased project to implement massive renovations and improvements to MacKenzie Park in West Conshohocken is now underway.

The project, funded with $377,000 from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and Montco 2040, broke ground with a large ceremony recently featuring various county and state leaders.

West Conshohocken officials called it an "exciting project that will benefit all borough residents."

The project will include several phases, and an exact timeline for each phase has not yet been announced. Improvements in various phases include:

  • New basketball hoops
  • Eight-foot wide multipurpose trail
  • Dog park
  • Pavilion
  • Storage facility
  • Fenced dugout for little league field
  • Pole-mounted lighting
  • Multiple concrete access walkways and connections
  • Balance beam
  • Assisted functional trainer
  • Trapeze rack
  • Portable bleachers
  • ADA accessible drinking fountain

State Sen. Amanda Cappelletti, State Rep. Tim Briggs, and Montgomery County Commissioner Tom DiBello all joined West Conshohocken's borough council for the recent groundbreaking.

The project will be further funded by a Commonwealth Financing Authority grant, and the borough is currently seeking additional funding for future phases of the project.

MacKenzie Park is located at the intersection of Bullock Avenue and Church Street.
