The man who entered the home was described as 5 feet, 9 inches, slim build, and 25-35 years old with dark hair.  Another witness saw a second man; he was reported to have dark skin, 5 feet, 7 inches, stocky build with dark hair.

Aqua President Steve Tagert asked customer to take special precaution before letting utility workers – or any one they do not know – into their homes.

“The only time we would really need to get inside of a customer’s home is at their request or to service or exchange a meter by appointment,” said Tagert.

“In latter cases, the customer is contacted by the company via mail or by phone and an appointment is typically scheduled in advance, so that the customer knows to expect a visit. Even in those cases, we want our customers to confirm that the person who comes to their property is a legitimate Aqua representative.
