Armed Robbery Reported Outside of Conshohocken Italian Bakery

Two men stole money and a cell phone from a bakery employee and struck the victim with a gun; police are asking anyone with information to call the station.

An armed robbery was reported Wednesday at just before 10 p.m. outside of the Conshohocken Italian Bakery, according to Conshohocken Police Chief Michael Orler.

An employee of the bakery, located at 79 Jones St. in Conshohocken, stepped outside of the building and was talking on his phone when two black males came from the alley across from the bakery, police said.

The men approached the victim and engaged him in conversation, and then pulled a gun and demanded money and his phone, according to police.

The victim gave the men his money and his phone, and the men then struck the victim in the back of his head with the gun and punched him in the face, police said.

The men were last seen traveling eastbound on Spring Mill Avenue, away from Jones Street, according to police.

The information was broadcasted and the area was searched, but no one is currently in custody; anyone with information can call Conshohocken Police Department at 610-828-4032.
