Attempted Burglary Reported in Fort Washington, Police Say
A sliding basement window was broken; two window screens were removed.

The Whitemarsh Police Department is investigating an attempted burglary on Cannon Hill Road in Fort Washington on March 16, in which a home was open into.
A victim on the 6000 block of Cannon Hill Road reported on March 16 that her sliding glass door was either kicked or hit with a hard object; there were broken shards of glass on the outside and inside of the window, according to police.

Additionally, there were two rear living room window screens removed and placed on the ground by the windows, police said. Two fingerprints were obtained from the windows.
Police said that no entry was gained from either point; the victim said that multiple dogs live inside of the residence, and they would have barked if someone tried to enter.

The victim believed that the attempted burglary occured during the day while no one was home, because the dogs would have barked to alert the residents, police said.
