Plymouth Twp. Burglar Rammed Truck Into Cops During Christmas Escape Attempt: PD
Officers said the man rammed a box truck into a police vehicle before fleeing and triggering a lengthy Christmas Day chase.

PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA — A burglar broke into a Plymouth Township store on Christmas Day and became involved in a high speed chase from police in his box truck and on foot before being arrested, police said.
The incident occurred on Dec. 25 at 10:38 a.m. at the Lowe's on 2002 Chemical Road.
Omar J. Dickens broke into the store, which was closed for Christmas day, and was spotted by Lowe's remote monitoring security, according to authorities.

When police arrived they found Dickens fleeing in a large Budget rental box truck from the garden side of the store, officials said.
Officers attempted to stop him but he drove the truck directly toward the police vehicle, slamming into the side door, police said.

Dickens fled until he crashed the truck behind the Giant store and then fled on foot onto the train tracks behind the Metroplex, according to authorities.
Whitemarsh Police K9 office Jim Sweeney and K9 Diesel helped track Dickens to a drainage pipe near the railroad where he surrendered and was arrested without further incident, police said.
No injuries occurred.
Dickens was taken to Montgomery County Correctional Facility, where he awaits arraignment on charges of bruglary, criminal trespass, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment, and related counts.
Norristown, Whitemarsh, and Conshohocken police assisted Plymouth Township and Pennsylvania State Police on the scene.
A preliminary hearing is forthcoming.
