Her friends and family described Barbara, who is survived by her husband, James, and nine children, as “a very, very loving person,” and “a sweetheart,” and the community mourned her passing.

Organizers planned the event in support of the family, as James has faced many health problems and medical bills while dealing with the hardship of losing his wife and the loss of his property and personal belongings.

The event will be held from 2-7 p.m. at the armory on Belvoir Road in Plymouth Meeting, and will feature hot dishes, beer and soda, and entertainment.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross in Barbara’s name.
