Conshohocken Italian Bakery Has Officially Closed

The iconic and legendary Montgomery County establishment has shut its doors for good.

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — The Conshohocken Italian Bakery, a mainstay and local's favorite for decades in the Philadelphia region, has closed its doors for good.

The bakery had announced weeks ago that it had planned to end its 51-year-run this autumn, though specifics were not clear.

Their final "bake" was Sunday morning.

"After today, mornings will be a little different," they shared in a social media post.

Owners cited a desire to spend more time with family.

"We've given you our best, and we hope it was good enough to keep those reminiscent anecdotes of Conshohocken Italian Bakery in your lives and to tell those stories of what once was, as we will continue to cherish the many memories you have given us," they added.

The bakery located on 79 Jones Street has become an iconic part of the suburban Philadelphia food landscape over the years.

It's not yet clear what will happen to the property, or if it is yet up for sale.
