Conshohocken Receives State Award For Building Community Partnerships
The Borough of Conshohocken was recognized recently by the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development.

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — This eastern Montgomery County borough was one of a number of municipalities across the state recognized by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development through the 2022 Governor's Awards for Local Government Excellence program.
Conshohocken Borough and Mayor Yaniv Aronson received the accolades last week, taking home a 'Building Community Partnerships' award given out by DCED Acting Secretary Neil Weaver.
"It's an honor to recognize all of these local officials, governments and organizations for their achievements over the past year," Weaver said in a statement. "More than any other level of government, local government has the greatest impact on our day-to-day lives. The projects and individuals recognized today help continue to make Pennsylvania the best place in the world to live, work and play."

The DCED said that Conshohocken's award goes to the fact that the borough has made community partnerships a priority since Aronson took office as mayor back in 2018.
"Whether it's with a local nonprofit, a local business, a school group or even a neighboring municipality, nearly every event that occurs within the borders of Conshohocken Borough features elected leadership and a strong community partner," the DCED wrote in a news release.

The DCED said that these events have ranged from a bi-annual neighborhood cleanup to the Conshy Strong fundraiser and community spirit initiative designed to benefit victims of COVID-19 and regional flooding disasters.
In a newsletter to residents, Aronson wrote that he was honored to receive the award on behalf of the borough, and that "hearing the incredible list of Conshohocken Borough community events and initiatives read to representatives from all over the state was an awesome experience!"
According to the DCED, a total of 11 communities, two organizations and eight individuals from across Pennsylvania were recognized for excellent service as part of the 26th Annual Governor's Awards for Local Government Excellence, which took place on April 13.
Photos of the awards presentation showing Conshohocken's recognition were shared on social media by State Rep. Mary Jo Daley, a Montgomery County Democrat.
