Conshy Italian Bakery Honored by Borough Council
The bakery 'enhances the distinction and standing of Conshohocken,' according to the resolution.
Conshohocken Mayor Robert Frost presented the Conshohocken Italian Bakery with a borough council resolution in recognition of 40 years of “distinguished business within the borough” at the borough's meeting on April 17.
Frost said that he was personally pleased to present the award, as he has worked with the business for over 30 years, through his involvement in community events to which the bakery donated.

“Any fundraiser that goes on in this town, this organization has been apart of,” said Frost. “They’ve never said ‘no’ – these guys donate, donate and continue to donate.”
Frost read the proclamation, noting that the bakery was originally founded on march 13, 1973 by Dominic Gambone and Frank Manze, and has grown to span over 18,000 square feet and employees roughly 40 employees, distributing baked goods in the tri-state area with an emphasis on wholesale and retail service.

“The Conshohocken Italian bakery builds a stronger community by contributing to a vibrant Conshohocken, creating economic and social relationships and donating to local causes,” Frost read.
The resolution also states that the bakery “enhances the distinction and standing of Conshohocken,” by winning awards, such as being voted the best bakery in the Greater Philadelphia area by “PhillyHotList” each year between 2009 and 2012, and entering the Guinness Book of World Records for baking a 57 foot, 4 inch hotdog bun in 2005.
The bakery celebrated its 40th Anniversary with a 40 day celebration, that came to a close last week. Each day, the bakery provided giveaways and specials to customers each day.
“There are not words to describe the gratitude we feel towards our valued customers, and consider each, and every one of you, part of the Conshy bakery family,” the business said on Facebook. “We look forward to serving you for 40 more years “
