UPDATE: Code Blue Extended for Montco
The weekend's code blue is now extended through Friday, March 8.

A Code Blue declaration that began at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, has now been extended through Friday, March 8.
"The Code Blue Declaration has been extended for Montgomery County for the period beginning at noon on Monday, March 4 through noon on Friday, March 8," said a release from the county.

Bundle up! It's going to be a chilly weekend.
As a result of forecasts from the National Weather Service, the Montgomery County Commissioners, on the advice of the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, have decided to issue a Code Blue Cold Weather Emergency for Montgomery County, according to a recent release.

The code blue will run from 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 2 through noon on Monday, March 4.
"A Code Blue Cold Weather declaration is made in Montgomery County when winter conditions pose a threat of serious harm or death to individuals without shelter," said the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety. "A Code Blue is called when the combination of air temperature and wind chill is anticipated to be 20 F or less."
Cold weather precautions are available on the Montgomery County Department of Health website.
The NWS forecast for the weekend shows the Montgomery County area shows will experience windy conditions may bring a chill to the air, with lows in the 20s F expected for wind chills.
