Counterfeit Bill Used at Local Business, Police Say

A man allegedly offered a counterfeit $100 to the Wine and Spirit Shoppe on Ridge Pike in Whitemarsh.

 

A man allegedly attempted to use a counterfeit $100 bill while paying at the Wine and Spirits store, located at 34 Ridge Pike in whitemarsh, just after 5 p.m. on Feb. 8, and fled when an employee notified the manager, according to the Whitemarsh Police Department.

A man, described as 50-year-old white male, between 5’8’’ and 5’10’ with graying hair, facial stubble and a missing front tooth and wearing jeans, wearing a red-and-black plaid shirt and a skull cap, attempted to use the bill to purchase a bottle of Hennessy liquor, according to police.

The bill, according to police, was a washed-out $5 bill.
