Drunken Man Crashed into Erdenheim Farm Fence, Police Say

The man, uninjured in the crash, was allegedly unable to stand without support for a sobriety test.

 

An Abington man is facing driving under the infulence (DUI) charges after he allegedly struck an Erdenheim Farm fence along Flourtown and Thomas Roads in Whitemarsh Township around 10:430 p.m. on May 25, according to police.

Whitemarsh Township Police responded to the crash scene and allegedly found Edward John Miller, 53, identified by an Erdenheim Farm employee as the driver of the Oldsmobile that crashed into the fence, standing outside of the vehicle.

Miller said he did not know how his vehicle crashed into the fence, and he showed signs of being drunk, according to police, who added that Miller was unable to stand without the support of two officers.

Miller was taken to Mercy Suburban Hospital for a blood draw; DUI charges are pending, according to police.
