Drunken Plymouth Teen Injured in Whitemarsh Crash, Police Say

The boy was injured after his vehicle flipped on Cedar Grove Road and landed on boulders, police said.

 

A 17-year-old Plymouth boy was arrested for alleged DUI on March 17 after a crash on Cedar Hill Road in which he hit two street signs and several boulders, according to Whitemarsh Township Police.

The teen, of Treaty Road, was traveling westbound on the 200 block of Cedar Grove Road in Plymouth Township just before 10:30 p.m. when he allegedly lost control in the curve and crashed into two street signs on the right shoulder and several boulders that line the property on 201 Cedar Grove Road, police said.

The vehicle then rolled at least once before coming to a rest on another set of boulders, according to police.

Whitemarsh police found the teen lying on the ground with a head injury, allegedly with a strong odor of alcoholic beverages and bloodshot eyes, according to police.  The teen originally denied drinking, then admitted it, and was arrested for DUI, police said.

The teen was transported to Temple Hospital by Whitemarsh ambulance, and was given a blood test in the emergency room.

While inventorying the teen’s vehicle, a marijuana grinder was found in plain view on the floorboard between the driver’ side seat and door, police said.

Charges are pending lab results, according to police.
