Electrical Fire Breaks Out Behind Walls Of Montgomery County Restaurant
It took firefighters an hour over the weekend to open up walls and extinguish a blaze at a Montgomery County Italian restaurant in KOP.
UPPER MERION, PA — Emergency crews were called out to a Montgomery County restaurant this weekend after reports came in about an electrical fire that was emanating from the behind the walls of the suburban eatery.
Firefighters on Saturday were dispatched to the North Italia Restaurant at 350 Mall Boulevard in Upper Merion Township to fight an active electrical fire that was located behind the walls of the kitchen area, according to local fire officials.
A Rapid Intervention Team was deployed to open up the drywall and extinguish the blaze, according to the Plymouth Fire Company No. 1 (Montco 43), which posted about the event on social media.

Plymouth Township fire crews assisted Upper Merion Township Fire & EMS on the call, which took place Saturday just before 11 p.m.
Ceilings also had to be opened up inside the restaurant to ensure the electrical blaze hadn't spread beyond the walls, according to fire officials.

The restaurant is located within the mall complex at the King of Prussia mall.
Emergency officials from various area agencies came out to assist on the call, including those with the Bridgeport Fire Department, Berwyn Fire Company, Norristown Fire Department, Lower Providence Fire Department, Radnor Fire Company and the Upper Merion Township Police Department.
Crews ultimately secured the entire scene by about 1 in the morning.
