General Lafayette Inn is Under Agreement of Sale
One of the oldest taverns in the United States is one step closer to being sold.
The General Lafayette Inn on Germantown Pike in Whitemarsh Township is under agreement, and a liquor license transfer is pending on the historic landmark.
According to a public notice from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board posted on Feb. 7, Lamar Cubed, Inc. is applying for a liquor license transfer from the previous owner, Barren Hill Brewing Company, LLC.

According to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control website, Erin Betlejewinski and Paul Trowbridge are office holders in Lamar Cubed, Inc.
According to the applications, there would be an exterior extension to the building. No other details are available on the sale.

A listing on the NAI CIR website states that the sale , for $1.25 million, includes two lots, totaling 2.15 acres, a 2,800-square-foot bed and breakfast, an 800-square-foot cottage, dining area and a fully-functional kitchen, micro-brew equipment and a liquor license.
The pub closed in 2010; most recently, the property went up for Sheriff’s Sale in August of 2011, and went back on the market in February of 2012.
