Kindergarten Students Donate to CHOP
The industrious students raised money by selling jewelry.

Last week, kindergarten boys from Springside Chestnut Hill Academy presented a $250 check to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia — money they raised selling woven jewelry.
Before making the jewelry, the kindergartners asked SCH Academy fifth-grade girls to work with them to figure out which bracelets would sell the best. The girls used a school-wide survey to find out which bracelet patterns and colors would be the most popular to sell.
The students sold necklaces, bracelets and rings for $1 at SCH Academy’s Homecoming Fair in October. Following a class discussion, the boys decided to donate the money to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at CHOP. The money raised will be used for baby supplies, books, blankets, and formula.
