LLS ‘Woman of the Year’ Candidate Raising Funds at Local Salon
Elaine Travis, owner of Splash Hair Studio in Conshohocken, is raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Splash Hair Studio owner Elaine Travis is vying for the title of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Woman of the Year,” and is raising money at her salon, located at 1004 Fayette Street in Conshohocken.
Over a ten-week period, which ends April 20, every dollar that Travis raises on behalf of LLS will count as a vote towards the title.

The money raised will benefit the LLS mission to cure blood cancers, and to “improve the quality of life for patients and their families,” according to the organization.
“LLS' continued advancements over the years are responsible for the blood cancer survival rate doubling and tripling; in some cases, the survival rate has even quadrupled,” Travis’s fundraising page says.

“I am dedicating my efforts to honor Jackie Fioravanti, a friend who passed from a brain tumor at the age of 19,” Travis said. “She is an inspiration to us all and was responsible for raising money and awareness for this horrible illness.”
According to Splash’s Facebook page, all haircuts with stylist Elle are only $20, and the entire amount goes to the LLS. Additionally, a $20 donation to the fund will get customers a blow dry service.
On March 24, Travis is holding an event at Trubeauty in Huntingdon Valley, which will include vendors and refreshments throughout the day, a hair professional show from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and a fashion show for the general public from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. More details will be made available on Splash’s Facebook Page.
