A conditional use permit for the spa, which will provide aesthetic and massage services, was approved by Whitemarsh Township.

The Whitemarsh Township Board of Supervisors approved a conditional use permit on Thursday for the Lorraine Moore Day Spa to move into a 1075 square-foot space in the rear of 431 S. Bethlehem Pike in Fort Washington.

The “high-end” day spa, located across the street from Zakes Café and Cantina Feliz, will feature a variety of skin care services, all-natural holistic nail treatments and therapeutic massages, according to Lorraine Moore, the applicant.

Moore has been a medical aesthetician and nail tech since 1986, and lives within walking distance of her new business, which will employee two other individuals and will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on most days of the week.

The makeup of the clientele is roughly 80 percent women to 20 percent men, and eight to 10 customers are expected to visit the new business on a daily basis, with ample parking to support the clientele.

According to Whitemarsh Township Planner Charles Guttenplan, Moore met the conditional use requirements as a tenant.

The front of the building is still available for lease, according to Remax Commercial.

“It’s great that you want to bring another business into Whitemarsh," said Supervisor Melissa Sterling.  "We appreciate it, and we wish you good luck."
