A Plymouth Meeting woman started a nonprofit over two decades ago designed to offer respite for those families battling cancer.
PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA — A local woman has been helping families battling cancer take a breather from the daily treatment grind and scoot off for some much needed vacations.
Marci Schankweiler started For Pete's Sake Cancer Respite Foundation more than two decades ago after her husband's passing from the disease. She aims to help families get away during some very difficult times.
Schankweiler recently told her story to Channel 6 ABC, speaking about how the loss of her partner spurred her to take action and help others.
