Plymouth Meeting Man Wins More Than $47K From Publishers Clearing House
Louis Silver of Plymouth Meeting was awarded with a Ford F-350 Super Duty XL, but he opted for the cash value of the truck instead.
PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA — A local man is more than $47,000 richer after being given an award by the Publishers Clearing House in its regular sweepstakes.
Video of a Publishers Clearing House representative visiting Louis Silver's Plymouth Meeting home recently was posted to YouTube, and shows the local resident being given the option for a Ford F-350 Super Duty XL valued at $47,530 or the cash equivalent.
Silver opted for the money instead.

"I'm very happy, I'm pleased," Silver says in the video. "Thank you so much. I'm glad I spent the time entering."
Silver says in the video that this was not time entering the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes, and that he has actually participated in the contest for "several years."

The representative — who came to Silver's home with an oversized check — then presented Silver with both a bouquet of flowers and an actual paper check containing the winning amount.
"What a weekend," Silver says upon receiving the award.
Silver said that he would likely share the money with his kids and family, since, as he put it, "I kind of have everything I want. I'm pretty happy."
Silver was asked why he kept on entering the sweepstakes throughout the years since he had never before been a winner, and he said he was retired and that it made sense since "the cost is zero, and the possible return on investment is infinite."
"It's not the million but I'm happy with this," Silver said.
