Phipps to Challenge Frost for Conshy Mayor, Other Election News

Petitions are in – check to see who will be on your ballot in Conshohocken.

 

Conshohocken Mayor Robert Frost will face off with former Conshohocken Fire Chief Robert Phipps on Election Day this November, according to petition receipts from the Montgomery County Board of Elections.

Donald Morrison, who held a kick-off reception for his candidacy as mayor earlier this year, opted instead to run for Colonial School Board.

Frost and Phipps won’t be the only two Conshohocken residents battling it out through election season; Republicans and Democrats fielded candidates for each of the three open Conshohocken Borough Council seats.

Republican Caroline Smerecki, a registered nurse from East 3rd Avenue will take on incumbent James ‘Ike’ Giffin, of E. Hector Street, for the ward 1 council seat.

In Ward 4, incumbent Anita Barton of West 7th Ave will be challenged by Republican Angela Hendrick of Sutcliffe Lane, who owns Beanie Bounce Party in Conshohocken.

Upper Moreland School District teacher Tina Buccini, a Democrat who lives on Lenape Lane, will challenge Robert Stokley, of W 11th Ave, for the ward 6 seat.

Incumbent Tax Collector Dominic Coccia, of W. 8th Street, will face opposition from Democrat Jason Storti, of W 11th Avenue.
