Plymouth to Discuss 120-Home Development Project Tonight

Township Council will hold a hearing regarding zoning at the Driscoll Farm on Plymouth Road at 6 p.m.

 

Plymouth Township Council will hold a special hearing tonight at 6 p.m. at the township building regarding potential development at the Driscoll Farm on Plymouth Road in Plymouth Meeting, which could bring 40 single-family homes and 80 townhomes to the township.

Plymouth Township Karen Weiss said that council will take public input on a map (rezoning) and text amendment application for the property.

The public notice states that the land is currently zoned A Residential and/or Office Laboratory; the application seeks to change the zoning to B Residential, and allow for 15,000-square-foot lots and townhouses, both of which are not currently allowed in B Residential districts under current Plymouth Township zoning code.

According to Times Herald, the proposal is for 40 single-family homes, located along Johnson Road and North Gravers Road, with an entrance on Johnson Road, and 80 clustered townhouses on Plymouth Road, across the street from Plymouth Elementary School.

The property is bisected by a right-of-way for PECO high-tension power lines; homes are prohibited from being build under such lines.
