Plymouth Man Charged with Stealing his Girlfriend’s Car, Police Say

Frank Bernardo, 39, was allegedly found with the vehicle in Whitemarsh Township.


A Plymouth Township man is facing charges after allegedly stealing his girlfriend’s vehicle for work, according to Whitemarsh Township Police.

The victim, of Conshohocken, reported that her boyfriend, Frank Bernardo, 39, took her 2003 Chevrolet Venture without her permission between 10-11 a.m. on April 13.

The victim attempted to contact Bernardo via cell phone with no success, and Bernardo’s employer told her that he knew Bernardo was working in sales in the area, but he wasn’t sure where Bernardo was, according to police.

Checking Bernardo’s driving record, police found that his license was suspended, and the vehicle was declared stolen, police said.

At just before 11 p.m., Whitemarsh police saw the stolen vehicle turning eastbound on North Lane from Butler Pike; after searching the area, police located the vehicle at 271 Roberts Ave.

Bernardo was charged with receiving stolen property, driving with a suspended license, and driving a vehicle without permission, according to police.
