Plymouth Officer Fatally Shoots Gun-Wielding Man Outside Apt.
A 22-year-old man is dead after being shot by a Plymouth Twp police officer Tuesday.

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, PA — Plymouth Township police and county authorities are investigating a fatal shooting Tuesday night that involved a Plymouth officer.
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office said the shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m. at the Plymouth Gardens apartment complex at 1300 Fayette Street.
Officers were dispatched to an armed subject call around that time and encountered a 22-year-old man outside the apartment complex armed with a handgun, according to a district attorney’s office news release.

A woman was also outside the complex suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The man refused to comply with police directives and was shot after pointing the handgun at officers, according to the D.A’s office.

Police gave CPR to the man before he was transported to Suburban Community Hospital by Plymouth Ambulance where he was pronounced dead at 1:34 a.m.
The stabbed woman was identified as the man’s mother and she was admitted to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to the prosecutor’s office.
