Plymouth Police K9 Unit Participates In 'Blessing Of The Animal' Event By Church Group
Church on the Mall in Plymouth Meeting recently held a 'Blessing of the Animals' event. Plymouth Township Police brought its K9 dogs.

PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA — Given their dangerous job of coming into contact with police suspects, it probably didn't hurt that the dogs got some blessings from the man upstairs.
The Plymouth Township Police Department recently had its K9 unit participate in a blessing ceremony conducted by a group called Church on the Mall, which is a faith-based group that operates behind the Plymouth Meeting Mall.
The group, which is affiliated with the Presbyterian faith, but also welcomes participates from other denominations, held a Blessing of the Animals event this past Sunday, according to social media accounts.

Plymouth Police brought its two K9 dogs to the program and had them blessed by members of the faith community.
"The positive vibes and well wishes were greatly appreciated," the police department posted about its participation in the event on its Facebook page. "We promise not to let them drink the Holy Water next year!"

According to the police department's Facebook post, various donations were collected at the event including pet food, towels and blankets. The donations would benefit various animal rescue and protection organizations.
The Church on the Mall also posted about the event on its Facebook page, and included a prayer that was said during the program in its post.
