The Plymouth Whitemarsh High School is ranked no. 31 in Pennsylvania and in the top 1,000 nationally, garnering silver ranking, according to the U.S. News and World Report.
The student to teacher ratio is 15 to 1 in the high school, and the College Readiness Index is 33.3.

The school educated 1,571 students, 82 percent of which are white, ad 52 percent of which are male. Students participating in free or reduced lunch programs, qualifying them as economically disadvantaged, according to the report, make up 16 percent of the population.
The school tests above the state average in math and reading, according to the report. In reading, only three percent of students test below basic, 28 percent are proficient, and 61 percent are advanced.

In math tests, four percent of students are below basic, 36 percent are proficient, and 48 percent are advanced.
In PWHS, 41 percent of students participate in Advanced Placement (AP) programs, with a passing rate of 76 percent.
The Colonial School District Board discussed the high school's success, as well as other schools in the district, at town hall meeting earlier this year.
