Conshy Relay for Life Raises $24K for Cancer Research [PHOTOS]

Hundreds of supporters helped raise money for breast cancer research.

The May 18 Relay for Life in Sutcliffe Park raised just under $46,000 towards the American Cancer Society.

Kelly Romano, a breast cancer survivor who lost her facther to colon cancer, was the top participant of the event, raising $3,400.  Her team, Kelly's Crusaders, raised $5,300, taking the top team spot.

Romano held a fundraiser at the local Ancient Order of Hibernians club in February, raising over $1,000.

During National Volunteer Week, the local Relay for Life board was recognized by community members for its hard work.
