Smash-and-Grab Theft Reported in Whitemarsh
An iPod, iPad were stolen; another theft was reported nearby at Phil's Tavern.

The Whitemarsh Police Department is investigating the report of a smash-and-grab theft from a vehicle in the Ambler section of Whitemarsh Township, near the intersection of Butler and Skippack Pikes, and another theft from a vehicle in the parking lot of Phil's Tavern.
Police responded to 6198 Butler Pike on Feb. 28 just before 8 p.m. p.m. for a report of theft from a motor vehicle. A victim, from Jamison, Pa., said that he parked his car in the parking lot around 6 p.m. and when he returned, his rear driver’s side window was smashed out.

The victim reported that an Apple iPad and iPod were missing from a black bag located in the back seat, and police observed that the window was smashed out using a tool.
The owner from Phil’s Tavern, located in the area of the report, said that a vehicle break-in was also reported in his parking lot that evening, but the victim left before police arrived.
