Thousands Stolen from Whitemarsh Restaurant, Police Say

Someone stole thousands of dollars in cash as well as more than $1,000 in liquor from the Persian Grill in the 600 block of Germantown Pike, Whitemarsh Police said. 

According to police, someone entered the building through a rear window between Nov. 12 at 10 p.m. and the following morning. 

The owner of the restaurant said that he found the cash register on the floor, "completely opened up."

Between $500 and $600 was taken from the cash register; $3,700 was taken in total from the restaurant, as well as $1,300 in liquor and 40 bank checks.
