Update: Man's Injuries in Whitemarsh Fire Not Life Threatening, Fire Marshal Says
The man was burned in an early morning bedroom fire.

Whitemarsh Fire Marshal Scott Lynch said this afternoon that a man sustained non-life threatening injuries following an early morning fire.
Lynch said the fire started in a bedroom in a 2-story townhouse in the unit block of Maple Drive; crews responded at about 3:30 a.m.
The homeowner, a man in his 30s, suffered burns to his face, hands and torso, likely the result of trying to put the fire out, according to Lynch.

"He was probably trying to put it out — which is a natural reaction," Lynch said. "At 10 this morning, I spoke with a family member [of the victim] who said that the man had been transferred to Temple University Hospital's burn unit. I have been assured that his injuries are non-life threatening."
The fire was contained to the bedroom, though the rest of the structure suffered smoke and water damage.

The fire is still under investigation; Lynch said he will attempt to interview the homeowner on Monday.
CBS3 reported that the injured man told firefighters that a candle may have lit a mattress on fire in the bedroom.
