Whitemarsh Little League Snack Stand Gets a Makeover

Brand names lime Chick-fil-A and Primo's and call-ahead orders are now available.

Watching little league games in Miles Park just got a lot more delicious, thanks to some recent concession stand changes made by the Whitemarsh Little League and Michael Serratore, Whitemarsh Baseball Association president.

Branded food, a golf cart that sells products at each field, and call-ahead ordering are among the changes made after the Whitemarsh Township Board of Supervisors voted at its last meeting to permit the little league to run the stand, which had been previously staffed by township employees, losing money for the township.

Serratore, and his wife, Diane, submitted a proposal and now staffs the stand with volunteers during games, offering branded food such as Primo’s hoagies, Chick-fil-A, Rita’s Water Ice, and Philly Pretzels, along with homemade chili and meatball sandwiches, hamburgers, and normal baseball fare like candy and sunflower seeds.

Another addition to the stand, which Serratore said has helped business, is a golf cart that travels to each field, selling the wares of the snack stand to spectators throughout Miles Park.

Call-ahead orders, with field deliveries, are also available.

At the township meeting, Whitemarsh Little League President Ned Hark also said that it will be easier - and cheaper- for coaches to buy snacks for teams right from the snack stand instead of bringing food into the park.

Serratore said that business is going well, and that all his profit goes to the Baseball Association, which sponsors three American Legion leagues.

“The money is used for the youth of Whitemarsh Township,” said Serratore.
